Queen's University Belfast, informally called QUB or Queen's, is a public research university in Northern Ireland. Though Queen’s was founded in 1845, our history dates back to 1810 with the establishment of the Royal Belfast Academical Institution. We are a member of Universities UK, Universities Ireland, the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Russell Group of leading research intensive universities, and the European University Association.
Our academic offerings at Queen’s span across various levels and subjects, and we have more than 300 degree programs. Apart from catering to our own students, we welcome students from other institutions and invite them to spend a semester or full academic year at the University through our Study Abroad and Erasmus programs. The former is open to students from Australia, Canada, and North America. The latter, on the other hand, is available to students across Europe.
