Projects Abroad is one of the largest volunteer organization in the world, sending 10,000 volunteers abroad each year. Founded in 1992, we are now actively working in 30 different developing countries. The Building project in Jamaica focuses on community development as well as improving the building construction to lessen the impact of hurricanes. Volunteers typically take part in repairing aluminum roofs, putting in louver windows, mixing mortar, digging pits, and laying blocks. In addition, volunteers help with setting up and carrying sand, cement, water, and stones. No prior experience is required, but if you do have any special skills they will be useful.
