My experience on the Medical mission
by: Sarah Buzon - United StatesProgram: Refugee Camp Experience in GreeceMy experience on the Medical mission in Larissa is truly amazing I can't even begin to describe this life-changing trip! Volunteering at the shelter was really hands-on, and I learned so much from the staff there, they were so involved and made sure we learned as much as we could, helped as much as possible, and let us feel welcome! I met amazing people there from whom I am so grateful for everything !!! This trip also allowed me to meet other volunteers from all around the world !! I made lifelong friendships there, and I will always hold the memories we made together on this adventure !!! the Philotimo accommodation was amazing !!! The staff and host were welcoming, and always available for ANY questions or requests we had !!! They were always in a cheerful mood, and made sure everything went well for every one of us !!! I can't thank them enough !! Finally, Larissa is a beautiful city, the landscapes, the People, and the culture are breathtaking ❤️ I would recommend this experience to anyone without a single hésitation, it was my first solo trip in volunteering, and never have I felt insecure or lost, Philotimo and Stavros make sure everything is well organized and guide you all the way !!! So yes, this is a unique experience that makes you grow, learn, and evolve as a person like nothing else, and I would recommend it right away to anyone with the will to help, discover, learn, and travel !!!
Super med project in Greece
by: Milena Turci - ItalyProgram: Refugee Camp Experience in GreeceI am Milena from Italy and I did 2 weeks of medical volunteering in Larissa at University Hospital it was an amazing experience. If I had to choose again a project I would choose this one with the volunteer project. The organization lets you feel at home with a lot of friends, opportunities, and learning that never stops. The medical project was amazing, in the hospital and at the shelter they let me do a lot of things on my own and I felt part of the team from the first day! If you have to change an organization go with Philotimo and you will remember your time with them for all your life!

I wish I could have stayed longer!
by: Mariana Rodriguez - United StatesProgram: Refugee Camp Experience in GreeceIt was my first volunteer trip, so I decided to only go for two weeks, but I wish I could have stayed longer! Stavros helped answer any questions before the trip. The description of the accommodation was accurate, so I was prepared to be with another female student. I was able to meet people from all over the world in different projects and at the hospital. I went in July, and since it is the peak of summer in Larissa it was very hot. Once I arrived, the Philotimo team in Greece was very welcoming, and friendly and helped me with any questions I had. They also helped plan out any excursions, I was able to go to the mama mia island and it was great! The Philotimo team is also very helpful with questions about the culture and the best transportation options to get around. I was not sure what to expect from my project before arriving, but I enjoyed it! I was able to help around the shelter with different tasks, and I also bonded with the locals. I came back home feeling refreshed and happy that I was able to bond with locals and experience a different culture and a different pace of life. In my free time, I was able to check out the nearby beaches. It is easy to navigate the town. I am glad I volunteered at Larissa, and I am looking forward to volunteering more in the future.
