What kind of skills you need to go on this type of project:
You do not require any specific skills or knowledge, but you will need to be ready to be flexible and adaptable! You must be prepared to get involved and to help in a sometimes demanding but rewarding environment. Lots of enthusiasm will enhance your experience.

Your role as a volunteer:
You will be involved in mainly teaching English, maybe computers activities, helping educate the future generations of the Karen and other Burmese migrants and refugees. You could also get involved in sports and other activities at the weekends.
You will live with and meet up regularly with the local Karen project coordinators to discuss your work as well as updating a teaching journal and keeping a weekly diary of your experience to pass on to your local partners and Openmind Projects.
