Ongula Village Homestead Lodge combines tourism, education, and empowerment to create awareness in the northern part of Namibia. We provide information events and afternoon education at the Ongula Community Centre to facilitate change in thinking and to generate impact and authentic cultural experiences. We work extremely hard to bridge the gap between volunteer work and the social experience that everyone should have in Namibia. We aim to connect international travellers and students with meaningful volunteer opportunities to support local communities and development in Namibia.
The lodge is strategically situated between Ondangwa, one of the oldest towns in the northern region of Namibia, and Eenhana, built alongside an active Ovambo Homestead, or village. We are one of the first lodges in Namibia to offer an introduction to the traditional lifestyle of the Ovambo people. We are in a rural area of northern Namibia and surrounded by seven villages, which belong to the Ongula municipality.
