Medical Electives Belize is a program started by Nancy Marin in 2009 after her involvement with notable organizations like Kaya, Pro-World, and Village Volunteers for many years. With her previous experience in placing more than a hundred volunteers in social work, education, conservation, and healthcare projects, she knows the value of finding quality placements for young people interested in opportunities abroad.
Now, she focuses on operating an initiative that provides healthcare and medical students worldwide a broad range of internships and electives in Belize. These young people can choose to split their placement by working in different hospitals, allowing them to gain practical experience in medical rotations. Our participants also comprise international volunteers whom we provide a meaningful and memorable experience. Other than work in medical and healthcare facilities or in local communities, our interns and volunteers get the chance to explore the natural beauty of Belize. They also immerse in local way of living by staying at the guest rooms of Nancy Marin’s home.
