Meadows Academy is day care centre and kindergarten, based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. It is one of the few distinguished private international early years learning facility that provides a high standard of learning to babies and young children. Meadows Academy hosts one of the most spectacular community service events of the city each year in support of underprivileged children and children with cancer.
The Academy stands on four pillars - Lectito (Read), Dictio (Speak), Scribo (Write), et Numera (and write). It is by these principles that the school guarantees children to be fluent in these prerequisites to advancing in elementary/primary school under any system.
Teachers and volunteers have an elaborate program of supporting early childhood learning amongst children suffering from cancer as well as other underprivileged children from proceeds of an annual event - the Uhuru Walk. Apart from walking for the cause, volunteers are also exposed to teaching time at the wards for the children with cancer.
