You are invited to participate and provide a helping hand in the Orangutan Conservation program. This project has been designed to protect and preserve orangutans. Help with various conservation activities and initiatives to protect, care for and save these intelligent, gentle creatures.

Orangutans on the IUCN Red List, classified as Critically Endangered, may be more closely related to humans than scientists previously thought. A new genetic study and the first blueprint of the orangutan genetic code has confirmed that they share 97 per cent of their DNA with people.

The Orangutan Education and Conservation Project aims to spread awareness of these beautiful creatures, conserve their habitat, and prevent them from going extinct. At the same time, it offers volunteers the opportunity to study the importance of orangutans in the ecosystem and food chain. The project helps and supports rescued and injured orangutans, preserving them for future generations.

Activities in the sanctuary involves husbandry, enrichment, maintenance, and construction. Volunteers are expected to follow guidelines when working around the animals in order to ensure their safety and those of the orangu

It was a great trip volunteering with INVOLVE in orangutan project. I was nervous before going on my solo adventure to the orangutan project in Malaysia. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted with a big welcoming smile. Everyone in the project was so nice and friendly. I enjoyed the whole trip a lot. I definitely go back next year for the Orangutan, Elephant and Turtle project but no longer solo, 4 of us are coming next year. Great job INVOLVE.
