Poland: Krakow

Program Summary

Take a great opportunity and study in Poland's historic capital of Krakow at the Jagiellonian University, Poland's oldest university! Students can study intensive Polish and/or elective courses of their choice. The academic program normally earns students 2-9 semester hours of credit. The program is designed to give every student a solid understanding of the Polish language and culture, while at the same time allowing for the program to be personalized to each students individualized needs. Students can choose to take Polish, which helps them communicate in the local language, understand the Polish culture, and adapt to their new environment and/or elective courses focusing on Poland and Central Europe. Intermediate and Advanced levels of Polish are available.

DATES 2017:
SESSION A - four-week program in a special format: three weeks in Krakow plus one week in a world-class spa in Szczawnica! Altogether 28 days, 20 days of classes. Dates: in Krakow: July 3-22, in Szczawnica: July 22-30

Program Includes:

•Tuition and fees
•An official transcript from Jagiellonian University
•Accommodation for the duration of the program (Single or Double Room in the Dormitory)
•Board - three meals a day
•Scheduled events and excursions
•tour of the Martyrdom Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau (the former Nazi concentration camp)
•trip to the ancient Salt Mine in Wieliczka or to the Pieskowa Skala Castle,
•trip to the Pieniny Mountains, including a raft ride on the Dunajec river,
•trip to the Tatra Mountains, including a visit to the resort city of Zakopane
•Students will live in a dormitory in single or double rooms (with one bathroom per two rooms), fully equipped with towels, sheets etc.
•The number of single rooms is limited
•Accommodation in single rooms is possible upon request when applying for the program on a first come, first served basis
•This option is includes the Room, Board, Trips and Cultural Events package
•At the dormitory there is a club, cafeteria and post office, as well as a newspaper and souvenir stall.
•The participant can access the Internet inside his/her room, using his/her own properly configured laptop.
•Board Meals are served three times a day in the students' cafeteria. Special dietary arrangements are possible for vegetarians
