InanItah is a transformational center and spiritual community created with the earth in mind. Inspired by the journey to freedom, we thrive on the concept of fostering environmental and spiritual consciousness while establishing a space for transformation.
Started in 2009, our center is located in a 22-acre community nestled in the hillside of Volcan Maderas in Isla de Ometepe, Nicaragua. We are surrounded by a natural backdrop, with views of majestic sunsets and of water and fire volcanoes. The island boasts of a rich ancestry. It was once a sacred Indian burial ground as well as a community for pre-Mayan tribes, with remnants still visible in the area. It also features statues and petroglyphs that show symbolism of potential Incan and Hopi influences.
We take on building and agricultural projects that are joined by volunteers. We also have year-round events and workshops, which are offered together with various ongoing activities. We collaborate with Fundacion InanItah, a nonprofit educational organization based in the US. As partners, we offer sustainable programs to local communities in Nicaragua.
