Health&Help is a charity project established in 2015 by Viktoria Valikova, an infectologist from Russia who has focused her medical profession in Central America since 2014. Health&Help was implemented to create a free clinic for the local population in Chuinajtajuyup, a remote area of Guatemala where the population is cut off from all kinds of healthcare facilities. Women here bear their children in the middle of nowhere, and the lack of basic medication and antiseptics is the cause of the majority of human deaths.
We started the project through fundraising, passing our target collection on March 2016. The building work of Health&Help is assisted by volunteers and every man in the village who pledged five days of free work. Our medical staff, who also work salary free, are joined by doctors from around the globe. We offer a professionally and personally enriching program for pre-med students and practitioners for six to eighteen months in Guatemala.
