Program Summary
Explore the rainforests of Costa Rica and take part in giving back to ecological conservation initiatives! With the GoEco Costa Rica Rainforest Expedition, participants are based on a research station in Jalova in the heart of the Tortuguero National Park. While there, they will help to provide data research in order to ensure the continued environmental and wildlife conservation efforts of the Costa Rican government.
Volunteers spend the first week in intensive training, with testing on the material at the end. Volunteers will also work with a staff mentor and the research team to gather data on populations of sea turtles, jaguars, and aquatic birds, all while gaining understanding of the delicate eco-system of the Costa Rican rainforest. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to participate.
