Football Coach

Jai (Owner and Director) and the Gameday Arts staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating to me and all of the international staff. Their Cultured hospitality was transparent from the moment I arrived in Bangalore. I received all the help and guidance I needed to set myself up comfortably and hit the ground running with my job role as a football coach within their community. The organisation, though relatively new, has grown and adapted swiftly into a fully functional programme, offering young people the opportunity to further their sporting skills in a fun, professional and developmental environment. My time with Gameday Arts was an amazing experience to immerse myself into a completely new culture and step out of my comfort zone completely; the skills, knowledge and experience that I gained through this job has equipped me well for my future plans socially and professionally. Gameday Arts is an awesome company to work for and you won't regret taking a step into the unknown!

Coaching in India

I worked for Gameday Arts in 2016, and my overriding feeling is that i can't wait to go back and see all the friends i made back in Bangalore.

As someone moving abroad to work in a new country, theres always a few things that make you apprehensive in the first few weeks, but straight away i was picked up from the airport, shown to the apartment i was staying with the other football coaches and made to feel at home straight away.

Although the company was well run and always looking to develop and improve its football, it was just as important to the owners, managers and staff that me and the other foreign staff enjoyed our time in India and took lots of effort to show us around and look after us, one of my favourite memories being the company taking us all to see Bengaluru FC in the Asian champions league semi-final. Over time i felt like i had a real family in India, that had my best interests at heart beyond the coaching i could do for them.

India isn't always the easiest place to live, but is definitely worth it, you'll fall in love with it eventually. Eat lots of Dosa's, they are good. Also, if Gameday Arts employ you, insist on working at play arena so you can go to kebab magic on the way home, the chicken is incredible. Don't let them make you drink too much old monk.

Lastly, i better say something about the coaching, you will never work in a culture with more well-behaved, receptive and respectful players (and parents), i really felt i could excel as a coach when i wasnt wasting energy on behaviour management.

Inspiring people, growing company, life changing experience

I love India and I consider my time working with Gameday Academy one of the richest experiences of my life. This rare opportunity to work with coaches and players from all over the world in an effort to progress sport in the vast country of India is unlike any other. The relationships I have with the Gameday Academy family are long-lasting and deep. The relationships I have with my players has gone on past my employment as I still keep in contact with many of the kids. The relationships I built with the community in Bangalore continue as social media connects us oceans apart as I can still communicate with the people. The company is growing fast and there is a contagious energy within the industry, country, and Academy that is exciting, ever-changing, and intoxicating. Every day brings a new challenge. Every day brings a new opportunity. Gameday Academy is the experience of a lifetime.
