Volunteer at new life in Nakuru

I came to Kenya in order to work as a volunteer at the girls and boys home in Nakuru. When I arrived there I realize that there where many things to do there and different ways to help. New life is not only a school and orphanage, they have also a garment making and crisis center for women who have been abused in different ways. During my time in Nakuru I have been able to use my knowledge in psychology (bachelor's and master's degree) and work together with social workers and counselors. I am developing a program about sexual education for the girls at the garment making and doing group therapies once a week. I am also having the opportunity to do group therapy with the girls from the crisis center and to implement a workshop about emotions one to two times a week. One of the best parts about working as volunteer in Nakuru is that everything is quite flexible and you can help in different areas and ways. I defenitly recommend other people to come and volunteer here!
