Engineering World Health (EWH) is a nonprofit organization based in the US and established in 2001 by Mohammad Kiani and Bob Malkin, who were both engineering professors at the University of Memphis. Their objective was to engage students and, in turn, enhance the technological infrastructure of hospitals and clinics in countries with poor resources. In 2008, EWH evolved to an independent NGO, thanks to a multi-year grant given by the Wallace H. Coulter Foundation. Under the leadership of Dr. Malkin and the assistance of volunteers, our organization has hosted numerous programs throughout the years, including equipment design and student summer study, as well as university and college chapters across the US. Today, we continue to create programs that engage and educate young people from developed and less developed countries in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
