Unique experience

My experience in Uganda was a unique one. I think that one of the best things of having volunteered in Uganda with Cooperating Volunteers was the contact with the local communities, we got to experience the real side of this country, and always surrounded by amazing people. Also, the bond created with both the children and the teachers is something I will never forget!

It has been an incredible experience, the team of coordinators is spectacular, any doubt or problem you have they are there to help you and make your experience a great one. The volunteer house is also incredible and the atmosphere that is created between all the volunteers is very very cool. You really have to live an experience like this 100% once in a lifetime, I highly recommend it!

Volunteering changed my life

In august 2022 i had my first, but not last, volunteering experience in Uganda. I volunteered in Tooro Babies Orphanage, a small local orphanage near town where i had the chance to help 6 amazing, strong and brave woman who spend the whole day taking care of around 60 kids in very vulnerable situations. Moreover, the local team and the coordinators made my experience not only much easier not just only by making us feel safe and accompanied at all times, but giving us advice about the best ways to help there. This experience not only shaped my perspective on global issues but also instilled a sense of responsibility to continue making a positive impact. It taught me invaluable lessons, offered profound insights, and ignited a passion for humanitarian work that will guide my actions for years to come. Now a days I have a whole family in Uganda, and that is, for me, the most amazing thing in the world.

What inspired you to travel abroad?

Having traveled with my organization to Tanzania as a volunteer, I loved the way they worked and organized things, and I also loved working with the local team there, so I got more involved to the point in which they hired me.
