The BEST

Great experience studying for one semester in Taipei Taiwan at NCCU with the CIEE-Taipei program. The students, locals, and were super friendly and patient with my bad Chinese speaking. NCCU offered many student-run excursions to experience local culture and customs. I met many local and international students during the excursions. The dorm in which I stayed in up hill which can be inconvenient for some but the scenery makes up for that. Wishing everyone a pleasant stay in Taiwan when the chance comes.

The good, the bad, and the ugly

CIEE CBPE is an extremely rewarding program if you plan on taking easy classes while experiencing Taiwan as a foreigner. Compared to the US, classes are much easier. The downside is that most of the classes you take, especially when taught in English, are filled with exchange students so you basically get very little interaction time with local students other than a few cultural ambassadors that CIEE assigns to you, and even then they are not obligated to spend time with you. If this is the kind of study abroad you would like, Taiwan is a beautiful COUNTRY that you should seriously consider applying for.
