We are an organisation that helps families and children from a disadvantaged background in The Gambia. A non-government, voluntary, non-profit and humanitarian organisation, whose main aim is to enhance life quality of children, youth and families, as well as to promote and include children into the process of education, from the pre-school period to adolescence.
All programmes are adapted to local conditions and are based on needs of local people in order to shape the foundations of further development. We are following the path we have drawn for ourselves and are bringing individuals and companies together in a common desire to diminish socioeconomic differences among people and play an active part in helping to spread social solidarity towards those in need, as well as develop life values and protect families and children in need.
We did not establish Charity Pearl The Gambia to build another school or change the customs and mindset of the local people. We established Charity Pearl The Gambia for one reason: to help the local people become more independent and not relay so much on foreign financial aid. With that goal in mind we created several volunteer programs in The Gambia which by themselves make a huge impact not only in the families we work with but the whole community.
Our volunteering programs encourage locals and volunteers to focus on finding longtime solutions within the country by using its sources.
Our volunteering projects are focused only on one country because we believe that the only way to guarantee its success is to be personally involved. Our staff is international based in The Gambia.
