Ideally, we're looking for candidates who demonstrate:

> Interest in humanitarian work and commitment to humanitarian principles
> Interest in social and community work - including with children, young people or vulnerable adults (including refugees and those with mental health issues)
> A friendly attitude, who are flexible and open to new experiences
> Commitment to helping individuals and local communities
> Strong interpersonal and communication skills
> Creativity and willingness to take the initiative.
> Open-mindedness and ability to work maturely and sensitively, particularly with vulnerable groups
> Ability to cope with the emotional challenges of working with vulnerable people and take measures to ensure own physical and psychological wellbeing
> Ability to work in a multilingual and multicultural environment
> A commitment to humanitarian principles
> A commitment to volunteering
> Preparedness to live with a modest allowance and in modest accommodation
> Realistic expectations regarding the benefits and challenges of volunteering overseas
> Willing to uphold the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and adhere to the Society's Equal Opportunities Policy
