Bee Farm Ugshapamba is an eco-friendly farm in the Andean Highlands of Ecuador. Our main goal is the conservation and protection of honey bees and the environment. We work through education and interpretation of information with visitors, tourists, and volunteers, teaching them the problems our earth is facing and how to do something about it. One of our primary activities is beekeeping, something that volunteers can help us with. We also run a reforestation project in collaboration with university students in Ecuador. We provide the local community with workshops to educate them about the consequences of burning trash and the forest as well as proper methods of garbage disposal and composting. In line with these, we discuss income alternatives to prevent further destruction of the forest.
