The Sea Turtle Conservation Project seeks to raise awareness of sea turtles and environmental conservation among residents of coastal communities. It also teaches and orients new professionals in scientific research, conservation, and protection of endangered species about the important role of sea turtles. In the Panamanian Pacific, the largest sea turtle nesting season is observed from the beginning of June to the end of December. The maximum activity occurs between August and December, with the arrival of a larger population of Olive Ridley turtles (Lepidochelys olivacea) - although they also nest on some beaches, the Hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata), green or black turtle (Chelonia mydas), and Canal or three ridges (Dermochelys olivacea); the latter two extending into the ...

It is not always easy to get up in the middle of the night for patrolling but you get rewarded by the beauty of the nature. No light pollution here!.
