What is the GoAbroad & Lonely scholarship giveaway?
GoAbroad and Lonely Planet have joined forces to offer a $2,500 volunteer abroad scholarship to one individual entrant. Other individual applicants—up to five—will be given a free copy of Lonely Planet’s guidebook, “Volunteer: A Traveller's Guide.”
Who is eligible to join?
Legal residents of the fifty (50) United States who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry with a valid email address.
Employees, officers, and directors, including immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and members of the same household and their respective spouses, whether or not related) of GoAbroad.com, LLC ("Sponsor") and any and all other companies associated with the Contest are not eligible to win a Prize (as defined below).
Can I enter if my country is not listed in the official rules?

Each week until November 14, 2017, one entrant will be drawn at random to win a free copy of Lonely Planet’s guidebook, “Volunteer: A Traveller's Guide.” These weekly winners will be contacted via email to confirm and claim their prize.
After the contest period ends on November 14, 2017 at 11:59 PM MT, one grand prize winner will be drawn at random. The grand prize winner will be contacted via email to confirm and claim their prize.
Will I need to submit an essay or co-curricular summary for scholarship consideration?
No—you will only need to provide your name and a valid email address.
How do I get my prize if I win?
If you are a weekly winner of Lonely Planet’s guidebook, “Volunteer: A Traveller's Guide,” you will receive your prize in the mail. You will be required to provide a valid mailing address when you accept your prize via email.
If you are the grand prize winner, you will get your copy of Lonely Planet’s guidebook, “Volunteer: A Traveller's Guide” in the mail and your scholarship will be distributed via PayPal. You will be required to provide a valid mailing address and PayPal account when you accept your prize via email.
When will the winners be announced?

Who judges the contests?
Giveaway winners are chosen at random. Contests that include a round of finalists are judged by a random selection of GoAbroad team members.
What if a winner cannot be reached?
If we have not heard back from the winner within 3 days of our initial outreach, we will select a new winner.
From the terms & conditions: the potential winner will be notified by email by the Sponsor (the "Prize Notification"). In the event that the potential winner does not respond to such Prize Notification within three (3) days of the date and time of issuance, a disqualification and prize forfeiture will result and, at Sponsor's sole discretion and time permitting, an alternate potential winner shall be chosen from among all remaining eligible Entries. The potential winner may be required to submit his/her valid identification to Sponsor and will be required to execute a prize acceptance agreement if deemed necessary by the Sponsor.
