API offers a variety of programs in 7 different locations across Spain, spanning the country regionally, culturally, and linguistically. Most locations offer courses in Spanish in a variety of disciplines such as Hispanic and cultural studies, business, and communications, as well as honors courses and direct enrollment with Spanish students.

The Institute for Global Education offers a study abroad program in Spain for American students in the process of completing their Bachelors degree. Students live in Barcelona and experience student life in one of the oldest yet modern cities in the country, through participation in various cultural activities and weekend excursions.

The first year is devoted to acquiring the basic methodology necessary for students to adopt the right approach to creative work. In the years that follow, there is a more intense focus on design activities developed on the base of real client briefs, supported by the guidance of lecturers and by the supervision of consultants in the field in question.

As for Barcelona as a study-abroad destination, it has become and continues to become increasingly popular, for good reason. You probably know that it is one of Europe's larger cities right on the Mediterranean Sea in the Northeast corner of Spain about 100 miles south of the border with France.

Students can choose from six different study abroad options in Spain offered by the American Institute of Foreign Studies (AIFS), located in Granada, Barcelona, and Salamanca. The AIFS offers courses across many disciplines, including multiple Languages, Literature, and Art History. Programs are available in all semesters.
