The seven-week summer program in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh, Cambodia is designed for students to learn the history of Cambodia-from the ancient times to 1970s-and come to understand it as a case study for geopolitical issues such as nation-building, radicalism, corruption, democracy, and economic development.

Travel with experienced faculty and visit Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hue, Saigon, Siem Reap, Angkor, Bangkok, Shanghai, Nanjing, Shaolin, Beijing, Xian and Lhasa, Tibet. Up to six EMU credits available in History, Political Science, Art, Literature and possibly Religion.

UBELONG Expeditions delve into international development issues through fieldwork and service learning activities. For two weeks participants join a tightly knit team of eight to ten people guided by two Expedition Leaders, leading development professionals.
