The Scholarship "Women in Business"

Description: Over the last few decades much has been made about gender inequality. It's the century anniversary of International Women's Day and while we can celebrate many great leaps in equality for women, there still remains a large gap in the workplace. According to the recent research, women occupy fewer than 25 percent of board roles in all sectors and the progress has stagnated. Over the decades women have continued to carve out a space for themselves in the economy, usually finding a lack of balance economically, as well as professionally. Research in the area of business education has also shown that there is a need to "feminize" business education in order to bring more "softer" personal and interpersonal skills to the practice of business management as well as to give women more incentives to participate actively in the business world. At Global Business School Barcelona we seek to encourage and empower business oriented women to achieve their personal and professional goals through business education, development, mentoring, networking, and leadership. Our scholarship program "Women in Business" has been created for outstanding female students wishing to take an active interest in business.

Academic Level:

• Masters

Criteria: Awards are made based on the following criteria: * Academic Excellence * Financial Need * Demonstration of leadership potential Eligibility: Applicants should be females; must show a proven history of academic excellence; meet the English requirements of the program they are applying for; have at least three years of relevant work experience. If awarded the scholarship, the applicants would need to provide proof of funds to pay the remaining course fees and living expenses.
