Amarillo Area Foundation Grant

Description: As a community foundation, the Amarillo Area Foundation does not limit its discretionary grantmaking to a particular field or area of interest. Rather, it seeks to support the entire range of human needs in the Panhandle. Because resources are limited, the Directors are forced to make judgements based on relative need and potential impact. Currently, the Foundation is focused on four areas of particular priority: * Education * Health * Human Services * Youth and Families

Criteria: A proposal may be presented to the Boards for approval within several weeks of receipt, but depending on the nature and scope of the project, it could take longer. The size and composition of the applicant organization can also be a determining factor in the time required for staff review. That said, proposals should be submitted a minimum of 3-4 months before funds are needed. Capital grant awards are not released until the construction or renovation contract is signed and funds sufficient to complete the project are secured. Applications may be submitted by mail or email. Upon submission, applications and accompanying materials become the property of the Foundation and are used as deemed appropriate by the Foundation.
