  • Description

The program is in a growth period. Last summer we started our IVY program - Initiative for Volunteerism in Youth - that was extremely successful. Our American students have been able to leverage their experience into jobs and graduate school in the US; our Jordanian students have been able to attend college and dramatically affect their communities. This year we will expanding the program in order to set the foundation for our future sustainability projects, as well as expanding the IVY program from one community center to five. We will also be starting our consulting program which will run during the month of May and use graduate business students to help grow local Jordanian companies.

    Why Zaytoon?

Zaytoon International is an organization committed to empowering individuals and improving communities by providing training and resources to promote economic and social progress. We are a non-governmental organization comprised of individuals of all types, students, academics, government officials, and community leaders, all dedicated to improving the world around them. Zaytoon International transcends individual religious, political, and social ideologies and as such does not encourage or endorse particular viewpoints or specific changes. Zaytoon instead focuses on providing tools and resources allowing the individuals from within the community to make the changes they see as important to that community. By teaching, mentoring, providing access to training and resources, Zaytoon International provides the means for individuals to improve the world around them in a sustainable manner creating growth and progress that is organic and grassroots in nature. Our objective is to help individuals engage the world around them, live lives of consequence, and accomplish any goals they may have for the improvement of their communities, their families, and themselves.

The world is changing and although it is rather presumptuous for us to individually believe we know what is best for others, we can empower others helping them to do what they believe is best for themselves.
