Description

This Victorian folly resembles a tiny, turreted castle and perches on the hillside overlooking the historic village of Eyam, famous for its tragic past. Two thirds of the village population was wiped out during the Great Plague of the 17th century, and you can trace the tale with a wander through the village to see the Plague Cottages and parish church. An ideal location for families, YHA Eyam sits on the boundary of the contrasting landscapes of the White Peak and Dark Peak, there’s also a varied array of excellent walking.

How do you get to this Youth Hostel:
Follow the hostel signs from the village. On Hawkhill road go past the museum and car park and continue up the hill. The hostel is around 600m on the left.

Bus information:
Buses pass through the village from Sheffield ,Buxton, Chesterfield and Bakewell.

Train information:
Train service between Manchester and Sheffield (Hope Valley Line). Nearest Stations Hathersage (6m) Grindleford (4m)
