Our degree programs are almost unlimited.
As you probably know, community colleges offer the first two years of any four-year degree (usually at a much lower cost and much lower teacher:student ratio than four-year colleges/ universities). But community colleges are so named because they try to meet the needs of all people, not just students seeking four-year degrees. We offer 'hands-on' two-year degrees for those who wish to begin working in a certain area (computer information systems, automotive, business, etc.) as quickly as possible, as well as one-year certificates in many fields.
We offer the following two-year degrees:
* Associate of Arts -- for students who are transferring to a four-year college/university.
*Associate of Science -- also for transfer students, primarily those whose majors have heavy science and math requirements, such as Business, Science, Education, Physics, Medicine, etc.
* Associate of General Studies -- for students who are undecided about their major; this degree provides a chance to take classes from several disciplines, yet remain on the four- year degree track.
* Associate of Applied Sciences -- this degree is for students who wish to graduate and enter the work force immediately. We offer A.A.S. degree programs in:
* Accounting
* Administration of Justice
* Architectural Graphics
* Automotive Management
* Business (Small Business Administration, Finance, Supervision and Marketing emphases)
* Computer Systems and Applications
* Construction Technology
* Fire Science
* Graphic Design
* Gunsmithing
* Nursing -- optional exits from this program include Nursing Assistant and Practical Nursing
* Office Administration -- specialized areas include: Legal Administrative/Secretarial, Medical
* Administrative/Secretarial, and Word Processing Administrative/Secretarial
* Paralegal Studies
In addition, we offer one- to two-year Basic, Advanced and Professional/Technical Certificates of Completion in most of the above degree areas as well as Administrative Medical Assistant/Office Specialist, Emergency Medical Services, Legal Office Administration, Residential Building Technology, Welding, and Word Processing Administration. The Learning Center can assist you in improving your TOEFL score, if necessary, in preparation for transfer to a four-year university. It is possible to receive more than one degree. It is also possible to change from one degree
program to another.
