Learn French in the Caribbean!
Our French language school was created in 1994. Its goal is to offer French language courses and immersion programs in the Caribbean overseas Department of France, la Guadeloupe, in French West Indies. It provides a unique opportunity to combine studies and intensive learning of the French language with vacations and an encounter with the French Creole culture.
As a training Centre in France, MLC has the accreditation for U.S student credits and Bildungsurlaub (Hamburg) . In our small school with a friendly atmosphere we welcome today between 15 and 30 students every week.
There is a variety of excellent programs to choose from. There are six levels of French - so we can cater from Beginners to those more capable. There is also a kayak (it is the Caribbean) and French course - and also a special French for Seniors which emphasis the unique French Creole culture.
We invite you to join us!
What makes our school so special? This is what a couple said about us!
"We found its location is just superb. Who thought you could learn French in the Caribbean! All year round hot & sunny, with amazing white sanded beaches. Multi level classes and very experienced teachers. There is also a wide range of great activities - we recommend the French and Sea Kayak Combination or the Seniors (50+) French and Culture program"
We are based on the island of Guadeloupe. this is part of an archipelago in the Caribbean composed of five other islands : Les Saintes, Marie-Galante, La Dacsirade and Petite Terre, Saint Martin and Saint Bartholomy.
Guadeloupe and Martinique the two islands in the Lesser Antilles are called the French West Indies (FWI).
Sainte - Anne Town:
Sainte - Anne is a small seaside town and surrounding district of some 20,000 inhabitants on the southern coast of Guadeloupe (Grande-Terre). Sainte - Anne has always been known for its magnificent beaches.
In addition to the dazzling beauty of its coastal areas, there lies a fascinating and rich inland heritage for you to discover. There is a history of 'cottage industries craftsmen', the former windmills of by-gone times, the quaint country atmosphere, and the fabulous vegetation and forests in the "Grands-Fonds" area.
The average monthly temperature on Guadeloupe varies by only about 3 C (5 F). It's hot - but not to hot, all year round. This temperature stability is due to the trade winds (Les Alizs) which bring a refreshing breeze from the northeast throughout the year with air temperatures near the coast from 22 to 30 C (72 to 86 F) and a very warm water temperatures of between 24and 28 C (69 and 77 F). Those winds also lead to a relatively dry, not typically tropical climate on the flat north-eastern island, Grand-Terre, where Sainte-Anne is located.
Year round where our school is located, there is great weather, and sunshine.
