The feedback has always been excellent for this practical option. For 4 hours per day you will learn Medical Spanish with our professional teacher. Five days per week you will intern at the local Hospital. This is a small rural hospital.

The hospital is busy dealing with poor people from the surrounding rural areas and small towns. It has a good range of facilities including emergency, x ray, etc.
The hospital is very interested in receiving both qualified medical professionals, and medical students.

It has about 12 doctors (most of them young and very enthusiastic about helping you). The hospital needs help and wishes you to become practically involved to the greatest degree possible.

The Director of the Hospital Director Dr. Nelson Victor R, warmly welcomes both medical professionals and medical students alike. Your medical coordinator is the hospital administrator, Juan Noinivos.

Qualifications

* Eligibility
Health professionals or anyone studying in health related fields such as pre-med, med, doctors, nurses, dental students, nursing students, EMTS.

* Level of Spanish - no specific level needed. Many volunteers study for a few weeks full time medical Spanish before starting the volunteer work at the hospital to improve their Spanish levels

* Length: Minimum length for a qualified medical professional is 2 week
Minimum length for a med students wishing to go on rotations is 6 weeks.
