There are many activities to do here but one of the best is Diving. Costa Rica is renown for diving and the Manuel Antonio is a jewel in the crown. he abundance and variety of marine life off the coast of Quepos and Manuel Antonio is impressive. Humpback whales, dolphins, reef sharks, Giant Manta Rays, Mobula Rays, Sting Rays, Angel Fish, Moorish Idols, Trumpet Fish, various types of eels ,octopus, turtles, groupers, snappers, crustaceans, huge schools of Barracuda, jacks and much more. It is the numbers and variety of marine life that make this area special.

Manuel Antonio is very popular because of its expensive white sand beaches backed by an evergreen forest that grows right up to the high tide line. The principal habitants are primary forest, secondary forest, mangrove swamps, lagoons and beach vegetation. There is quite a varied fauna with 109 species of mammals and 184 of birds. The park includes 12 little isles just off the coast; these are a number of dolphins and, at times, migrating whales can be observed.

Highlights

Costa Rica has emerged as a world class scuba diving destination. Its underwater wonders cover coastal coral reefs and offshore islands. The water is warm (75-85°F), and what surprises divers is the tremendous underwater activity, thanks to high nutrient concentrations. The dive spots are varied, and visibility ranges from 10-40 metres ( 30-120 feet).

The abundance and variety of marine life off the coast of Quepos and Manuel Antonio is impressive. Humpback whales, dolphins, reef sharks, Giant Manta Rays, Mobula Rays, Sting Rays, Angel Fish, Moorish Idols, Trumpet Fish, various types of eels ,octopus, turtles, groupers, snappers, crustaceans, huge schools of Barracuda, jacks and much more. Soft and hard coral formations are common but not as colourful or abundant as some other areas of the world. It is the numbers and variety of marine life that make this area special.

There are 12 islands offshore from Quespos and this provides a huge number of dive sites. This area contains enough marine life for the most experienced of divers and for snorkellers. Costa Rica is both a great place to learn how to scuba dive, or for the experienced diver to get an excellent variety of deep dives.

Our partner Dive centre is a professional and certified Padi dive centre with full time padi instructors on staff. It offers the full range of services from beginner diver packages, padi certificatation to dive master, and of course single tank, double tank and night dives.
