Growth & Learning: Become an Intern
At World Wide Village (WWV), we believe in the importance of education and its impact to create sustainability among the Haitian people. We offer supervised Internships that provide a teaching and learning experience. The cost for our Haiti Internship Program is 800 USD/mo and includes: housing, on ground transportation, food/beverage, translators and all project costs. There is a 2-3 month commitment for all WWV Internships. Internship areas of interest include:
* Sustainable Agriculture
* Medical Healthcare
* Housing Construction
* Psychology Education
* Automotive Maintenance
* Development & Marketing in Haiti
* Mission Team Intern
Interns with World Wide Village get to work alongside our wonderful Haitian partners and develop relationships and memories that will last a lifetime. Each day in Haiti is different, challenging and unpredictable. They are also inspiring, energizing and filled with opportunities to learn and grow.
Agriculture Interns might help a group of community women develop a produce garden and learn about improving the nutrition of the family one week, and spend the next week building chicken coops and helping launch a community poultry project.
Education Interns might help teachers at one school discover better teaching tools one day, build a play system at another school the next day, and follow that up with teaching a soccer sportsmanship clinic the next day.
Medical Healthcare Interns might work alongside an American Medical team at a clinic that helps local Haitian providers improve their skills, then work with severely malnourished children while administering Medika Mamba program. (A highly nutritious food supplement that can save the lives of severely malnourished children).
Housing Construction Interns might teach local Haitians quality construction techniques one week then spend the next week coordinating laying the foundations for a number of new homes that will enable families living in tents to move into permanent housing.
Psychology Education Interns might be at a children's home on day practicing Play Therapy or Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and at a school the next day applying Art Therapy techniques.
Automotive Maintenance Interns get to help keep everyone else moving as they work training Haitians individuals automotive repair and developing project/task management skills. This job is never boring because Haiti's inconsistent roads means there is always work that needs to be done on WWV vehicles.
Development & Marketing Interns in Haiti will help to assist with NGO relations and work as a relationship liaison to other Haitian non-profits, while also having the experience of soliciting in-country gift in kind.
Mission Interns will have the opportunity to practice ministry and leadership skills while working with our service team members. Interns will have the opportunity to use project management and assistance skills while doing a wide range of WWV program activities- as listed above.
1,600 for 2 months
World Wide Village provides all food, secure lodging, transportation, and translators as well as material and logistical support on all projects while in Haiti. Interns are responsible for their own airfare to and from Haiti plus any pre-trip innoculations costs.
A typical WWV volunteer is someone who feels called by God to serve the poor and to help raise them up to a brighter future and a stronger relationship with the Lord. They tend to be passionate, energetic, fun-loving, adventurous and committed to making a profound difference in the world.
