"The family we stayed with was absolutely fabulous. They made our experience what it was, and we enjoyed their hospitality , their openness, their friendliness and they helped us to understand many things about their culture and their country. We only wish it could have been longer with them."
"I feel I probably had the best homestay experience possible. My host parents were so kind and made sure that I had everything that I needed and more. They treated me as if I was their own daughter, and I felt like they were my parents. The house was beautiful, it was in a great location, and the room I stayed in was more than I needed."
"This experience has greatly influenced my outlook on education. Before participating in this program, I was not seriously considering teaching as a career opportunity. However, this experience has changed that, and I am now considering becoming a teacher."
Don't worry if you don't speak Spanish when you get here. The teachers are fabulous and being immersed in the culture makes you pick up the language so quickly!
The people involved with World Endeavors were very friendly and supportive of my trying to learn. I felt very comfortable here from the beginning. I never felt lonely or out of place, and I never felt that there was a language barrier because although I could not understand everything on the first try, everyone was very patient with me and everything worked out.
This was my first experience abroad and it has reinforced that I love traveling and meeting new people from different backgrounds and cultures. My time in Costa Rica and my work at Escuela de Ganadaria will give me the confidence to continue traveling to new places.
I volunteered with the Orphanage Assistance program through World Endeavors and it was an unforgettable experience. Not only did I gain a new perspective on life, but I also improved my Spanish language skills immensely as well as exposed myself to a new culture. My host family was incredible and the kids, as well as the staff, at the center I volunteered at were great. The kids at the center have very little and to know that I was able to contribute to their lives is something that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
"I feel like after my month in Thailand, I have had the unparalleled opportunity to immerse myself into a culture where I was truly accepted for who I am. The Thai people I met were so kind and willing to share their culture that I often forgot that I was there to teach them about mine. I met many friends who I will stay in touch with forever. I hope I impacted their lives 1/10th as much as they have impacted mine. They not only opened their homes, but opened their minds and hearts to my experience and showed me cultural exchange and understanding at its best."
"I gained a stronger sense of independence. I have always been self-motivated and fairly independent, but this gave me the extra reassurance to take on new experiences without thinking twice and knowing that it will all work out and be worth it."
"I really enjoyed being immersed in the culture and making new friends. Not only did I work with Spanish people, but I worked with other international students as well so it was nice to learn about both the Spanish culture and other cultures as well. I also really improved my portfolio for my future career and gained a lot of professional knowledge of graphic design while improving my Spanish."

I feel I made a great impact. I was able to touch the lives of the children in the hospital and create my own after school program to help children develop their interest and creativity. It makes me feel good to know I was helping such a great social interest organization with projects with the elderly, children, kids in the hospital, and women."
My experience was life changing and so incredibly wonderful! I hope that I get to go on many more study abroad programs!
I thought it was a great program. I loved my time spent in Thailand. World Endeavors took care of all the details so I didnt have to worry. Having an in-country representative was also really helpful for getting settled and communicating with my apartment managers in the beginning. It was a more unique experience than most people I know who studied abroad. I got to learn a new language and go to a University with students from all over the world."
"World Endeavors and my volunteer placement allowed me to live in India, rather than be another Western tourist. I was not 'experiencing a culture', I was engulfed in the day to day life of Tamil Nadu. It was one of the more remarkable experiences of my life."
