It is rare to find an internship that provides more than 2 - 4 weeks of language training. World Endeavors' Internship in Italy provides interns 80 hours of intensive language training per month for the entire 3 to 6 month internship. This gives interns not only the chance for valuable professional experience but also a more in-depth knowledge of the Italian language and culture. Language training takes place in the heart of the historic centre on the corner of Via Tornabuoni, just a 10 minute walk from il Duomo.

Interns will also have the opportunity to connect with other Italian language students and visit cultural sites in Florence and the surrounding Tuscan countryside. World Endeavors makes this process easy for participants by ensuring that they are registered with various professional and governmental agencies, purchasing workers compensation and liability insurance and providing on-site support throughout the duration of the internship.

Qualified - All Italian language instructors are highly qualified professionals, with teaching degrees, specialized in teaching Italian to foreigners.

Immersive - Optional activities give students the chance to meet people, make friends, practice Italian and learn more about the Italian culture. Some suggestions are:

* Weekend excursions to other Italian cities and to country villas and wineries
* Visits to monuments/museums and seminars
* Lunches, dinners and parties at characteristic Florentine restaurants
* Trips to the theatre for concerts and opera
* Visits to artisan workshops to witness the Florentine craftsmanship of leather, jewelry, ceramics and pottery

Short-term accommodations in Florence can be difficult to find. We provide assistance to interns looking for single and shared apartments. Costs vary from one option to the next. Our goal is to provide you guidance but also flexibility to ensure that you find housing that meets your needs and your budget.

Qualifications

No prior Italian language knowledge is required. However, for interns who can speak Italian, an assessment exam will be provided to determine the appropriate placement in language classes. Interviews will be conducted after arrival in Florence.
