This project offers a world class opportunity to assist with marine research and conservation. Volunteers will spend time in the Indian Ocean surveying the majestic Manta Ray, the biggest in the world.
You will experience the challenges and pleasures of working in one of the most beautiful and remote coastal environments in Mozambique. This project includes 25 dives and you will receive a discount of 15% for every friend you recruit. Contact us for more information, photos, videos and much more.
This program is a great opportunity for dedicated students to engage in real world research and meaningfully contribute to our projects. Activities include (but are not restricted to) collecting underwater and land based data, transferring data to the database, assisting with the education projects, fundraising, organizing and participating in events for environmental protection etc.
You will learn how to measure manta rays using underwater lasers, how to identify and run ID programs, how to evaluate divers impacts and much more. You will get experiences on Access, EndNote and Manta ID softwares, as well as practical experience of conservation and education projects. You will interact with the local people, get to know about local culture and teach local kids about the ocean.
