Affordable Voluntary Service Projects throughout Germany! (July 2009)

My three week workcamp in Germany was an absolutely incredible experience! I was the only American (and the only person from the entire Western Hemisphere) among 18 very cool international youths. Our work involved building a labyrinth at the site of an old Roman fort. Unlike many volunteer programs I've done, this one felt very authentic; we met real people and had very intimate experiences with the culture. We planned and arranged everything ourselves rather than having it handed down from above. A great way to experience a different culture!
