Cost, during the first 4 weeks USD183/w, as of the 5th week USD135/w, at a five star comfortable family homes at the best residential neighbourhood of Quito, this cost includes registration fee, private bedroom and bathroom (fully equiped, see videos on our family homes inside), three meals a day, maid service, laundry, unlimitted fast internet, tel for local calls.

VE is a small Ecuadorian five families organization committed to helping the poor and ill children, unlike other companies who unfortunately capture the market but are, without doubt, out to make a profit&

We are neither an enterprise nor a business using poverty for making profits. We do not ask for nor receive any donations. We are a group of local five upper/middle class families who are now retired. We are devoted entirely to helping children in need in Quito, Ecuador. We have no staff, no one receives a salary. Our comfortable elegant five star home facilities (see videos in our webpage) and excellent food and services including laundry, are charged at the very low price of USD18 per day; this is in compensation of your unpaid devoted volunteer work.

Payments and administration forms are not required until arrival. Before making you a decision to join us or not we produce for you e/mail addresses of our former volunteers you may contact for first hand information on our work and us. We need your help to assist underprivileged and or ill children and the same time learn Spanish at the best in town academy in parallel to explore Ecuador with its Galapagos islands, Amazon jungle, Andean snow capped mountains, etc. Indeed a diverse, spectacular and exciting country.

Highlights

Anyone over 15 years old can volunteer with us as long as she/he shows they are willing to devote themselves to the poor children of Ecuador. Applicants do not require an academic background to apply.

We also co-operate with colleges and universities as to provide projects to volunteer as part of the school program in Human Services, Social Work, Pre meds programs, and the like. For this purpose we organise with the corresponding school a join practical training program for its students.

Program Fees Include:

We offer volunteering opportunities and Spanish language-training to those tourists who would like to conduct these activities in parallel to their touristy plans. Therefore you only require a tourist visa which is free of charge for 90 days.

Registration fee (one time payment): USD 190 which permits us to cover our operating costs which does not include salaries as we have no staff, airport pick up from, certificate of attendance and taxes.

Host family cost: USD 135 /w to cover a fully equipped bedroom, bath/shower, board (three meals a day) and laundry, unlimited high speed internet with one of our upper middle class host families at the best residential and secure neighbourhood in Quito. Spanish classes: While you volunteer, if you wish, you can also have Spanish lessons at our affiliated best in town Spanish academy at reduced prices as you will be our volunteer. As a reference, be informed that this centre trains the diplomatic corps of the USA, the UK, Canada, etc, assigned to Ecuador.

Costs for Spanish classes: In a group up to five students USD 140 or on one to one USD 210 for 20 hours class, a discount of USD 25 or USD 40, correspondingly. Additionally the only once Registration Fee of USD 40.

- Volunteering Schedule: Volunteers work in the mornings, 4 hours, from 8 AM to 12, and learn Spanish / salsa / or sight seen, etc in the afternoons. Volunteers work from Monday to Thursday in order to tour the country at the weekend from Thursday midd day till Sunday evening.
