Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and able to provide a criminal record check from their country of origin. An aptitude for the skills you bring, an adventurous spirit and open mind, an ability to work independently and with groups, and a sincere desire to make a difference is all that is required.

Cost in US$:

USD 266 + USD 50 placement fee per week

Program Fees Include:

- Pre-departure support.
- Volunteer Placement.
- Pick-up from Tufesa or Tap bus station in Guaymas.(comfortable economical travel)
- Arrangements for Airport pick-up from Hermosillo International Airport can be negotiated and scheduled for you; price depending on how many passengers. Flights into Guaymas may be offered starting January 2016. (free pick-up)
- 24-hour in-country support from your experienced host residing with you at the Volunteer House.
- Welcome dinner on arrival day.
- Comfortable accommodations (up to 4 people shared room) at - Volunteer House. Use of all common areas, cooking utensils, linens, drinking water, wifi, printer for materials, washer, free local calls.
- Welcome meeting.
- Location orientation.
- Escort on your first day to your volunteer work site.
- Weekly grocery shopping trip (but you can access grocery stores independently anytime)
- Volunteers can choose to participate in escorted social outings that may include beach trips, fund-raising events, hiking, group dinner out, community events, festivals etc. These may require you to use your own money for spending.
- All necessary project equipment and materials (you may also wish to bring some materials from home).

Typical Volunteer

Volunteering with VTV can provide an opportunity for you to gain experience in your chosen field of study, improve your Spanish language skills or can simply provide a venue for you to share your natural skills and abilities with a charity in need of your help. ex: Recreation, Sports, Teaching, Child Care, Social Work, Math, Computer Science, English, Cooking, Arts & Crafts, Trades. VTV volunteers will be open minded, tolerant, sincere and posses skills and abilities relative to their chosen volunteer placement. The profile of a volunteer abroad has evolved over the years. Anyone with some spare time, be it their two week vacation time, a few months sabbatical or a full gap year, that wants to make a difference in the lives of others in a foreign country can be a suitable volunteer.
