  • Description

The Philippines like any third-world country suffers from diseases due to poor hygiene and sanitation brought about by poor awareness programs. This is one of the major issues that our country needs to face and come up with solutions to. A lot of people in rural areas cannot afford to pay for medicines and regular medical check-ups.

Volunteer for the Visayans is reaching out to those in need of help and with the primary goal of making a difference by giving service to the community. With the support we receive from our volunteers, both foreign and local, the organization is able to give medical relief clinics to surrounding towns of Tacloban City. Come May of this year, the organization will be hosting another Medical Relief Clinic in Tanauan, Leyte. We need doctors, nurses and volunteers who have some medical backgrounds to help and give their services for this mission. Volunteer for the Visayans will also accept donations.

Volunteer for the Visayans is a non-profit, established Non-Government Organization, CN200427692, that focuses on community development and international education. We are proud of our unique Asian culture and we invite the rest of the world to experience life from a Filipino's perspective and experience living in a country burdened by economic hardships, yet still optimistic about the country's existence! Our international volunteers immerse themselves in a culture foreign to their own, while educating the local community about the Western world.
