Description

As a volunteer on this project you will be a teacher's assistant in local elementary schools and institutions in Trat and its surrounding areas. English language proficiency greatly increases opportunities for future employment in Thailand. Our program works primarily with elementary schools that do not have sufficient funds to employ native English language teachers. As a volunteer you will help to fill the gap.

Thai teachers greatly appreciate help from native English speakers, as well as from non-native speakers fluent in English. Classroom sizes vary from 20 to 40 students. Students are always excited to have volunteers in their classes to help them with English conversation, and to help them overcome the shyness felt when learning a new language.

Highlights

In some institutions, a time slot is set aside where volunteers work with small groups of students. You will be required to create a lesson plan, which should be loosely based on the school's English curriculum. Thais love to have fun, so come prepared with lots of interesting activities to include in your lessons!

Your main duties:

* Create lessons and teach English to students
* Assist English teachers with grammar and conversational lessons
* Encourage and engage students in practicing their conversational skills
