As a volunteer on this project you will be working in elementary schools in the center of Trat. You may be assigned to one or multiple schools. Most of these schools have a dedicated computer room with about thirty computers running on Windows 7. Computer lessons are part of the school's curriculum and classes will be led by a Thai teacher. Your job will mainly be to assist individual students with their assignments. Most Thai IT teachers are overrun with work so they greatly appreciate help from volunteers.
You don't have to be a computer expert to volunteer on this program! Any college student who uses a computer to do their college work will have sufficient skills. You may also use any skills you have to help maintain the general functionality of computers in the labs of the schools. During your classes you will receive help from the Thai teacher, especially if you encounter any language barriers. In general however, you will be surprised by how much you can teach in English since most students are very keen to learn.
