Description

You will be working in an orphanage teaching physical education and sports to the children. Physical activities can help build confidence and help provide children with extra activities and attention. It is important for the children to get exercise to build strength as well. Without volunteers, the children do not get the proper exercise needed. Volunteers are role models and mentors to these underprivileged children.

You will work with the staff members on physical education activities and teaching the children basic skills for different types of sports. Volunteers will help develop and monitor activities for the children to participate in.

Highlights

The orphanages are located in the Koforidua and Berekum regions of Ghana. All locations have rich culture including the food, architecture, clothes, language, art and culture, dance, and music. uVolunteer believes that you should have a well balanced work and play schedule. This means you will only be required to work 5 days per week (Monday to Friday) for a maximum of 6 hours per day. For the remainder of your time, you will be free to enjoy the vacationing aspects of your trip. uVolunteer anticipates and encourages your desire for travel and adventure. Your time away from volunteering is open for you to decide your activities. You may decide to take advantage of the local culture and spend time within the community over the weekend. Otherwise, there is ample opportunity to explore Ghana and all it has to offer. Our local representative, will advice you on which areas are safe for travel.
