  • Highlights

You will be volunteering in Kpando. It is one of the administrative districts in the Volta Region of Ghana and is bordered by the Hohoe District to the north, the Jasikan District to the east, the North Dayi to the south, and the beautiful Volta Lake forming the western border. About 70,000 people reside in the district and are mostly Ewe speaking nationals. There are several tourist attractions in the area with the Volta Lake, with its scatted beautiful islands, providing good sightseeing activities. uVolunteer believes that you should have a well balanced work and play schedule. This means you will only be required to work 5 days per week (Monday to Friday) for a maximum of 6 hours per day. For the remainder of your time, you will be free to enjoy the vacationing aspects of your trip. uVolunteer anticipates and encourages your desire for travel and adventure. Your time away from volunteering is open for you to decide your activities. You may decide to take advantage of the local culture and spend time within the community over the weekend. Otherwise, there is ample opportunity to explore Ghana and all it has to offer. Our local representative, will advise you on which areas are safe for travel.

    Great weekend trips include:
    * Site seeing and community tours
    * Travel to Cape Coast and Elimina Castle
