  • Description

    This internship provides a great opportunity for the interns to gain hands-on international work experience while seeing how a hotel is run in China. The interns will be working at the front office or food & beverage department with the following responsibilities:

    Front Office:

    1. Assist to direct all aspects of the guest relations function to achieve the highest possible guest satisfaction to current and future VIPs.
    2. Assist to monitor guest relations personnel to ensure Priority Club members consistently receive all benefits, repeat guests and other VIP's receive special recognition and service
    3. Inspect all VIP rooms prior to arrival
    4. Greet VIP guests personally
    5. Promote Inter-Hotel sales and in-house facilities
    6. Perform other duties that may be assigned to him.

    Food & Beverage Department:

    1. Report to Captain for instructions about the menu.
    2. Set table according to established procedures.
    3. Receive guest and assists in seating guest by pulling chair.
    4. Present menu to guest, suggesting food and beverage and answers questions regarding the menu. Fills glasses with ice water while guests decide order.
    5. Write order on check and places order with kitchen or bar. Procures items from each station or from central servicing counter.
    6. Serve order to guest with proper sequence and timing. Replenishes water and butter if needed and cleans ashtray or requests busboy to perform this duty.
    7. Request Outstation Cashier to close check, presents same to guest and accepts payment.
    8. Observe, anticipate and accommodate guest needs or requests.
    9. Maintains side stand by wiping flatware and folding napkins, refills condiment containers and jam containers.
    10. Perform other duties that may be assigned to him.

    Guest Relations:
    1. Establish good public relationship with all guests.
    2. Assist guests and ensure their stays are comfortable and an experience to remember
    3. Provide guests with the most accurate and up to date information at all times
    4. Assist in maintaining a close working relationship with all Departments of the Hotel
    5. Responsible for receiving and escorting all VIP's and ensuring that they feel comfortable and welcome on their arrival
    6. Assist as required/requested with the solving of any guest complaints/upsets
    7. Perform other duties that may be assigned to him.

    Essential Requirements:
    1. Hotel management, tourism, or hospitality-related major preferred
    2. Cheerful, proactive, and self-motivated
    3. Fluent English speaker;
    4. Candidates from the European and/or North American countries preferred
