Our Torino program offers you a high-quality educational experience in three diverse academic areas: business, architecture and Italian studies. Classes are held at one of the most prestigious institutes in Italy - the Scuola di Amministrazione Aziendale (SAA) of the University of Torino. Although the University of Torino was founded in 1407, our classes are held in a modern building along the Po River, with everything from CNN to internet access. The combination of American and Italian professors provides a valuable dual perspective on Italy, its culture, and on the European and international business community. Combining academic coursework with practical learning, tours, site visits and an integrated cultural experience, this program has it all. Students will visit sites of artistic and historic interest, as well as some of the multi-national firms headquartered in the area. Guest speakers from cultural centers and businesses are an integral part of the program. In addition, you will have the opportunity to interact with students from all over the world.
The summer Torino program offers two, five-week sessions. Each includes an optional four-day visit of central Italy offered between sessions. You may participate in one or both of the sessions. This program is ideal for those unable to participate in semester or yearlong programs. Torino provides students with an exciting, cosmopolitan setting from which to gain a working knowledge of the Italian language and to experience its rich culture away from tourist areas.
Torino, the first capital of unified Italy, is located within easy access to the major cities of Europe, as well as the Italian peninsula. It has more than a dozen ski resorts and both the Italian and French Rivieras within easy reach. A bustling city of one million people, Torino is a natural base for language, cultural and international business education. The urban city center blends historic charm with industry and offers many sites of historical interest, as well as a vast assortment of urban cultural activities. Among them are the Royal Palace and Armory of the first Kings of Italy, the Royal Opera theatre, the Egyptian Museum (second only to the Cairo Museum), a medieval village and nearby prestigious wine and truffle regions of Italy.
