Description

Baltic Studies Program offers a range of academic courses that concentrate on political, cultural, economical and ecological particularities of the Baltic region. The aim of the program is to introduce international students to distinctive features of Baltic history, culture, politics, society, economy and nature. Estonian context of the program is emphasized by language studies module, presently offering Estonian and Russian language courses on different levels, and culture courses that focus more narrowly on issues in Estonian cultural space.

Who should apply:

The program is primarily intended for foreign visiting and exchange students, majoring in the humanities or social sciences, but is open to students from all fields. This program can be taken as a single semester or as a year long program. All courses in the program are in English and at the undergraduate level but have also been taken by graduate students.

Highlights

All courses are awarded a certain number of credits in the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), which makes studies abroad easy to transfer to educational institutions worldwide. Students need to check with their University study abroad advisor prior to arrival how ECTS credits transfer into their national system of credit points.

Program Fees Include:

The tuition fee covers expenses that relate to coursework and studying and does not cover housing costs, meals or other personal living expenses. Students are responsible for arranging their travel insurance as well. One month's rent at the university dormitory is about 100 EUR/month (plus utilities) and around 250 EUR should be projected as minimal personal expenditure per month.
