The International Summer School at the University of Stirling is a credit-bearing programme in the form of an accelerated semester of eight weeks duration. Visiting students from around the world can save time and money by acquiring a full semester's credit in a short intensive semester.
The University of Stirling is set in an idyllic 360 acre wooded and landscaped site round Airthrey Loch. While many buildings date from around 1967, some of the buildings are very recent, including the Macrobert Arts Centre which includes a 466 seat theatre, cinema, creche, bar and cafe. The programme's orientation, meanwhile, takes place in the 18th century Airthrey Castle located on campus. Campus sporting and recreational facilities are excellent and include a 9-hole golf course, the Scottish National Tennis Centre, the National Swimming Academy, squash courts, fitness centre and water sports as well as playing fields available for all sports - all facilities are open to students during the International Summer School.
The University is situated just outside the city of Stirling, an historic area at the core of Scottish history. Public transportation connections are first class, and the cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow are less than an hour away, while the magnificent Scottish Highlands and Borders are also within easy reach.
