  • Description

The "Study in Central Europe" is an interdisciplinary programme for a semester or an academic year which offers undergraduates coursework in literature, culture, history, psychology, arts, economics, politics, social issues, and the Hungarian language. The courses are held mainly in English. Before the semester starts, students get a list of the courses that they can attend. Moreover, they have the possibility to choose courses in Hungarian as well, if their Hungarian language skills allow them to attend the classes.

The "English Language Preparation Course" is designed for students who wish to continue their studies at the English programme of the Medical School or at the English programme of the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Pecs, or in another Hungarian higher education institute. The programme includes 20 English contact hours and 6 Hungarian contact hours per week. The course lasts for one semester or an academic year and ends with an oral and written examination.

After arranging the semester program, students can enroll themselves to the courses during the orientation week and can get to know the town a little if they had not participated in the EILC intensive course before the semester.

  • Highlights

The International Studies Center as an independent organization of UP has been running international program since 1987 at University of Pecs.

ISC offers you a wide range of different courses. You could choose from one-year-long, one-semester-long, for-week-long and two-week-long courses or we organize for you an individual schedule.

The aim of the program is to provide a comprehensive background on the political, historical, economical, and cultural factors that form present day Central Europe. International students are invited to investigate traditional European ideas contrasted to a post-modern and post-colonial interpretation of the rich interplay of centre and periphery, East and West, past and future, as well as Socialism and Capitalism. The content of the courses is built upon events, heroes and ideas that have become internationally acclaimed components of World Culture and History.
