Sonderborg is a college town on the island of Als. About a quarter of the 30,000 inhabitants are students, thus ensuring a lively social scene. Because of its sometimes turbulent history with Germany, there are many historic monuments in the area, including an 800 year old castle!

Esbjerg(pop. 83,000) is a harbor town in the heart of one of Denmark's main tourist areas. It is close to medieval towns, amusement parks, beaches and nature reserves, and is host to a wide range of museums and performing arts.
